VIDEO: NPA, STAKEHOLDERS SEEK TO EASE LEKKI PORT CORRIDOR CONGESTION

The Nigerian Ports Authority on Wednesday met stakeholders at Lekki Port to address lingering truck congestion along the port corridor.

The road serves the port, petroleum facilities, free-zone businesses, coastal communities and the coastal road construction project.

In a bid to tackle the gridlock, Port Manager of Lekki Port, Emmanuel Anda, called for strict adherence to the electronic call-up system for trucks.

He also directed trucks to use a single lane to allow other road users access within the corridor.

Stakeholders agreed on the need for truckers to use designated parks and complete bookings before approaching the port.

The Lagos State Ministry of Transportation and the Lekki Worldwide Investment are expected to come up with an enforcement plan for the regime.

Maritime TV Africa reports the Nigerian Ports Authority will lead stakeholders on an inspection of all truck transit parks along the corridor on Wednesday October 7, 2026 to assess the facilities and use.
