“Use your New Rank in Service”, Area Controller Tincan Customs Command Admonishes 110 Newly Promoted Comptrollers

Following the promotion of 110 officers of the Tin Can Island Customs Command, the Area Controller, Comptroller Dera Nnadi have urged the new comptrollers to show integrity and service in the discharge of their duties.

Nnadi who stated this during a decoration ceremony recently implored the promoted personnel to show gratitude to the management of the service by helping the command attain its revenue target for the year 2024 through selfless service.

His words:

On behalf of Comptroller General of Customs, I want to welcome all of you 
o this auspices occasions of decorating as it is tradition officers that have been promoted after 58th Regular Management Board meeting of Nigeria Customs Service.

It is very important to recognised that this is best promotion exercise conducted by Nigeria Customs Service under Alhaji Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR.

One other thing that is significant about this promotion is that over 67 Customs Comptroller were promoted. That is unprecedented and we thank the management and board of Customs for being magnanimous. 

It is on record that over the years several of those who are promoted were not promoted not because they could not really be promoted because there were not enough available vacancies, it is important that management decided to compensate them this time around. 

Here in Customs Tin Can Island Command, we are privileged to have produced the highest number of Customs Comptroller, who were promoted.

9 Customs Comptrollers were promoted, 16 Deputy Comptrollers were promoted, 21 Assistant Controllers and overall, we have 110 comptrollers who are promoted. What that means is that TinCan Island command is a breeding ground for leadership.

I congratulate our stakeholders who through who through their various actions bring out the best in these officers, it is a testament of the collaboration between us. Stakeholders have helped in building the capacity of our officers to the extent that out of all commands, Tin Can command produced 9 Comptrollers, that is unprecedented.

Let me state that those of you who are promoted are not only lucky they are privileged, is not all that worth promoted that that got promoted, hadn't been found competent both academically and character wise.

This year is going to be labelled the year of stakeholders and it is going to be hanged in the shoulders of the newly promoted officers. Put on your thinking caps and come up with new ideas.

According to him, the command personnel will work with the port users towards achieving revenue target and trade facilitation.
