Aminu Umar Becomes First African Director on the Board of International Chamber of Shipping

The Nigerian Chamber of Shipping has announced the recent appointment of Mr Aminu Umar, President of the Nigerian Chamber o

f Shipping, as Director on the Board of the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS).

Mr. Umar, one of Nigeria’s foremost shipowners, is expected to extend his knowledge and experience in Nigeria/Africa’s shipping trade to the promotion of the shipping industry globally.

Speaking on his appointment Umar said; "I am honored to represent Nigeria and contribute to the global efforts of the International Chamber of Shipping. This appointment is a testament to the potential and capabilities of Nigeria's maritime sector."

Maritime TV Africa reports that the Nigerian Chamber of Shipping advocates for the interest of Nigeria’s maritime sector and on the Board of the International Chamber of Shipping, Nigeria's position on global maritime policies is expected to strengthened.
